He and his wife Susan own a 1901 Queen Anne cottage in Alameda, that since 1980, he has lovingly restored to its original character.
He recognizes that an older home needs to fit a modern family's needs and requires alterations that blend with the existing character of the house.
He believes that comprehensive design, high quality materials and old world craftsmanship bring true value to one's home.

Over 20 years of experience
Dan's love of older homes started in 1978 when he apprenticed for a firm in San Francisco restoring Victorian homes.
Larsen Builders was founded in 1985 with the intention of sharing Dan's skill and insight with homeowners that care about their homes.
His wife and partner, Susan Larsen, has been the business manager since its inception.
The family-owned firm focuses on doing major remodels in the San Francisco Bay Area and the East Bay. This includes kitchens, baths, master suites, additions, restoration, basement conversions, foundation replacement, and entire homes. In recent years this team has become expert in residential highrise remodel.
